I am Jewish, and tonight is the sixth night of Chanukah, yet I’ve only received two gifts. How could this be? Well, Chanukah is about light and miracles. I interpret light as good, or anything having to do with good.
I know there is a little bit of light in everyone. With your light, you can create miracles. There are a tons of animals waiting for their miracle to come. Many do come, but a lot more don’t. If you give an animal in need love, that animal would feel so much better. You can also find an animal a cozy, welcoming home if you really try. And sometimes on the streets you’ll see animals from different shelters waiting to be adopted, you can help these animals. You can go up to the workers and ask to walk the dogs, or pet the cats, etc.
Many animals are waiting for their miracle. It will come to them one day. The sooner we act, the sooner the animals’s miracles are fulfilled.
As I mentioned I received only two gifts, but Chanukah is not about gifts. Well, I wouldn’t mind a third gift. If I could get a third gift, it would be from you, my readers. I would want for everyone reading this blog to try and help at least one animal. Happy holidays!

What a beautiful post. I love the title, the writing, and most important, the ideas.
how beautiful! growing up we were not exposed to animals of any kind save for shmuly my goldfish and a few salamanders (yanky & zevy)i caught on the highway up in the country, thus i have always had an intrinsic fear of animals, often feeling scared even at slightest puppy bark. (my kids are much better and love animals) anyway, after reading your post, i decided to be “brave” and filled a bowl of milk for some of the cold cats outside our building and sure enough, they all came and drank from their new “well of life” and they owe it all to you. i have a funny feeling they’l be “me-yowing” your sounds tonight. if you open your window, im sure you can hear it.
there you have it, your third gift!

Thanks a lot. That was very brave of you, and you gave me a third Chanukah present.
I also love the title of this post… and the whole idea of this blog! Thanks for shining your light in the face of the darkness; hopefully your readers can be the reflectors that amplify its glow.

I am impressed with your blog. You are wise beyond your years and so lovely and caring. Your words are powerful and from the heart. You are a great role model. I am proud of you and blessed to have you as my niece. Love, Auntie Em
