Every Sunday I volunteer at an animal shelter for my bat-mitzvah project. It’s a lot of fun. Today there was a beautiful, friendly, black dog. Two people found her last night, near the Parade Grounds, in Brooklyn, NY, all by herself and pregnant. They took her for the night, and then today brought her to the Sean Casey animal shelter. They thought she would give birth last night, but she didn’t. Today a vet picked her up, and she will have her pups. After she and her pups are recovered, they will be brought back to the shelter.
Hopefully they will get adopted quickly. Maybe you even want one.
How could anyone want to leave a dog right before it gives birth. If the owner is unwilling to take care of puppies, then they should get their dog spayed.
Some animals do have happy endings. We should all do our best to make more for them.
